Matt’s DOTGOV app will be created using the innovative technology employed by social media and banking services. It will serve as a platform that can be easily accessed on any mobile device.

Gaining Access

• When a person turns 18 years old, they get to go down to the county building and get a voter registration number. At this time, they will receive a brand new phone with the DOTGOV app pre-installed. (See Candidacy Speech). This will get them ready for adulthood and participation in our country so that they can become invested and responsible.  Funding for this program can be easily attained by restricting foreign spending (as outlined in the Foreign Aid Restrictions solution below).

The Voice of the People

• The DOTGOV app will be utilized to ascertain the will of the people on a wide variety of issues or legislation.  There will be a bi-partisan group in the House and/or Senate that will be responsible to generate questions and up to 5 detailed responses from which to select.  A push notification will arrive in the DOTGOV app, and the voters will have 48 hours to research, discuss with family and neighbors, and cast their vote for the solution they would like implemented on their behalf. The results of these polls will not formally dictate policy, but it will serve as an indicator to Congress and all leadership in Washington where the will of the people stands.  For example, if any given subject garners say a 75/25 percent result, it would be easy for Congress to understand and execute the will of the people.  On the other hand, if the result of the poll came out to be 52/48, at least Congress is aware that there is basically a split decision to be decided.

Elimination of Voter Fraud

• Matt’s DOTGOV app will be created using the innovative technology employed by social media and banking services.  When we employ the same people who construct the digital infrastructure of security for online banking systems, we can all finally rest assured that the elections in our country are legitimate, with the results both accurate, reliable, and timely.  Two-factor authentication to a mobile device or government website will guarantee the identity of the voter.  Installation, activation, and use of this app can only be utilized by individuals who are registered to vote.

International aid will only be used to provide military assistance in the defense of innocent lives and for American interests abroad.We are going to stop sending for example 200 million to Pakistan for gender equity studies. We are going to square up our country as quickly as possible. It might take some time but we are going to take one problem at a time and square it up. This includes healthcare, immigration, prison problems, homelessness and anything else that the American people decide they want to tackle.

America has a problem with foreign aid being wasted in some cases.  Gibbons 2024 is proposing that a special accountant will be appointed to every approved foreign aid package sent to other countries.  If the allotted funds exceed a certain amount, let’s propose 5 million dollars +, let’s take $100,000 off the top and hire a special accountant to be a federal employee for one year. It won’t cost one extra cent to the taxpayer, and suddenly we will have much needed direct oversight. Their responsibility will be to work with the designated country’s financial people to ensure that the funds are properly allocated and spent according to plan. Quarterly detailed reports from these special accountants to oversight committees would be appropriate.
